-
- EZprint is a small, fast, text printing utility to be used at the DOS
- prompt (command line). It represents an extension of the DOS "print"*
- command, and offers greater flexibility and speed.
-
- OPERATION:
-
- Start EZprint by typing at the command line (DOS prompt):
-
- EZprint <Enter>
-
- You will then be prompted to enter the path and name of the text file
- you wish to print. You can also start EZprint by typing the name of the file
- on the command line after EZprint, as follows:
-
- EZprint C:\CONFIG.SYS <Enter>
-
- You may change LPT (printer) ports at the DOS prompt by typing:
-
- EZprint /p <Enter>
-
- where p is the number of the desired port, LPT 1, 2, or 3. Ezprint
- comes preconfigured to use LPT 1, and this choice can be easily restored
- by typing:
-
- EZprint /1 <Enter>
-
- The new configuration will then be saved to disk. For this reason, you
- must NEVER RENAME EZPRINT!
-
- And always make sure you are in EZprint's directory before changing LPT
- ports.
-
- LIMITATIONS:
-
- This file was written to be used with text files, such as those files that
- end in .txt, .doc, .prn, .asc, etc. EZprint will print the contents of
- non-text files, but not in a text fashion; it will just print the
- underlying computer generated characters. We have not yet found any
- software incompatibilities. Please read the enclosed file "SIXPACK.DOC".
-
- Thank you for supporting shareware!

- *Why use this instead of the DOS "print" command? Because "print" is
- actually a printer spooler that, once started, stays in memory and
- occupies approximately 6 KB of conventional memory until you reboot.
- EZprint does not take up your memory; it executes and then terminates.
- If you need a printer spooler that CAN be removed from memory--and can
- be loaded into upper memory blocks--please order Spool Commander!
- from Sorcerer Software (see "ORDER.FRM").
